Last year we had an opportunity to meet for the first time after the pandemic in Flensburg for a team retreat which was an excellent opportunity to energize and regroup. Fast-forwarding to 2022, and we meet once again! In one year, our company grew fast and achieved many great milestones, so it is time to get together, celebrate, and focus on the next great things to come.
Upon arrival in Flensburg, our team kicked off this retreat with a company-wide lunch in preparation for a trip to Dagebüll. Dagebüll is a municipality located on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein in the Nordfriesland district, Germany. This UNESCO World Natural Heritage site covers an area of around 11,500 square kilometers and includes the three Wadden Sea National Parks, making it a perfect mudflat hike (Wattwanderung) for our colleagues. It was a great time to connect with our teammates in a fun team-building exercise while learning together about this unique ecosystem.
After our visit to Dagebüll, our CEO, David Bachmann, shared the vision for the company and align the team on the priorities for the next 12 months in a State of the Union meeting. We also took the opportunity to celebrate the teams’ achievements in the last quarter, sharing our objectives, key results, and how far we have come.
As we have been growing fast in past years and with the team being diverse, it is essential to understand how each one of us is unique and works differently. With collaboration embedded in our culture, it is vital to nurture our values. To strengthen our teamwork bond, we are working with a specialist to implement the Neurocolor methodology in our company.
NeuroColor is a methodology that applies the latest neurobiological findings into an easy-to-understand framework. Very concretely, it allows us at ng-voice to have a common language to talk about personal preferences and better identify and adapt to work style differences among team members and colleagues. On the second day of workshops, we focused on applying the methodology in our teams, evaluating each other's working styles, and allowing us to understand each other even better.
We also invited specialists from our own team to share their knowledge and expertise with everyone in the company. 3 workshops were prepared by our lovely colleagues who are sharing insights in their area of expertise.
Our recruitment team led by Margareta began their workshop on talent acquisition. An interactive session in a non-presentation set-up focusing on mock interviews. Our team also had the opportunity to attend Andrii and Lipak's workshop which gave us an insight into the latest industry developments. Our colleagues Lukas and Matthias returned with one of our favorite workshops which is programming for beginners, a fun 75-minute journey to coding 3 real-world applications.
